FOC Modding  Thrawn's Revenge: Fall of the Republic Minimod V2 Beta Released

The Fall of the Republic Minimod V2 beta is now available for download in the Members Only board of the Thrawn's Revenge forums. To gain access to this board, you must be registered on the forums, and have a minimum five posts (do not spam). The full release of the minimod will be soon.

This isn't to screw over non-members. It was either this, or keep it in the team to test for much longer. This makes it easier to be sure the final release is as stable as possible. So if you want to play the minimod early consider signing up and being active on Thrawn's Revenge forums.

W.I.P's

We have some W.I.P's of some new things that we have been working on for this mod.

Seaniboy2009 our loyal modeller has been working on the space station design for the Colonial side in the game, he has managed to create a great model which reflects the Colonial Side and how it should look. Take a look at the W.I.P images in the Screenshot Section.

Betaplayer, one of the mod co leaders has been working hard on new textures for the mod, so far he has managed to take the old Rebel Pilot Model and re create a texture for it, so that the model in use looks more like the Colonial Marines from the show, Pretty Cool! We will yes be getting rid of the visor before anyone says anything.

So that concludes our first update on the mod, and what its going to contain unit wise, we will continue to keep you up to date with news on the mod, and i hope yo bring you W.I.P's of the Cylon Space Station when i report in to you next.

FOC Modding  UnitedStudios - The Creation
Battlestar Galactica Colonial Wars V5 and all the big fixes has been released as a gold version. The Mod is a partial conversion of EAW, adding Colonial units to the Rebellion, and Cylon units to the Empire. This version of the mod is the latest and the final version, it contains all possibly bug fixes, and is the most stable version of the mod. You may notice that there is no Trinity Battlestar in the mod anymore, due to permission problems.

Battlestar Galactica Colonial Wars was the first mod to be developed by the first members of United Modding Group Studios, this mod will go down in history for its appearance in PC GAMER, and also for its popularity.

A New total conversion mod is being churned out by UnitedStudios at the moment, Slow progress is being made, but the mod is coming along well. Mainly the main jobs which need to be done are re coding the AI to build the BSG units and not the Star Wars ones, Particle Effects for weapons and other things, re coding all BSG units with the necessary adjustments to the weapon systems, coding the Factions and the Galactica Conquest maps, and re designing the GUI completely.

BSG at War is set to be released by the End of the Summer Holidays in September 2009. This release will be the first release and wont include everything at once.

BSG at War now has its own dedicated section at our forums, but you need to be registered to see whats going on. We have W.I.P's of new Colonial Marines, Space Stations and much more. This mod priority has been shifted from Average to HIGH, which means that this is the main project that we will concentrate on.

FOC Modding   Thrawn's Revenge: Fall of the Republic Minimod V2

Thrawns Revenge

Many of you will remember, or have since downloaded, the Fall of the Republic Minimod we released back in 2007. Well, because we had so much FotR content more or less finished before our recent downtime, we decided that until we got a skinner, we would add and polish some more of the Fall of the Republic stuff and release a second version. So, being the prudent people we are that's what we did. As for when it's going to be released, the answer is soon. Probably within a week, almost definitely within two. We're finished, we just have to finish the testing and debugging.

We've also got some good news regarding the mod overall. I've managed to re-establish contact with some more of the missing team members. Namely, Nezill and Frost. Nezill has already returned to the team and is hard at work. Frost will be able to return sporadically to help finish up the models that still remain.

Please note also that some content has been changed from what it will appear as in the final, full version of Fall of the Republic (and in some cases Imperial Civil War) as it would be overpowered in vanilla FoC. We have included many things from FX as well, including things Codeuser has made since he handed over the reigns of FX to Filo, so it will look nice as well. There have also been some Imperial units and two heroes (Veers and Tarkin) removed, as with these additions, they would have had too many with the addition of Mace and Jorus. These units have only been removed from GC, however, so you can still find Veers in skirmish.

Hopefully this will be the last transmission until the mod is released. We are well on our way and very close to wrapping up this project. The day is rapidly approaching where you will all be downloading and playing this mod. We are very close to Beta, and well past the Alpha stages. We are rigging the final units, as we speak and playtesting the mod daily. We expect to be releasing the mod to everyone VERY soon. I know you all are tired of hearing the word "soon" but we do not want to give a specfic date, however, we do have a date we are shooting for internally. I am pleased to announce that the land portion of the mod is pretty much wrapped up, and the coding team is making final changes and additions. SFX are wrapping up also and the modeling department is winding down. I know many of you check the mod progress bar daily, and I am not always current on it. In fact, I have to update that right after I write this update. We are officially in the 92% percent range, with the last 8% being cosmetic changes here and there, and tweaks to various units. Boy do we have some surprises for you all. We dont want to spoil it, but we are adding in some things never before done, that are very cool indeed, those of you that have been lucky enough to see previews, please dont let the cat out of the bag yet. With todays updates, come some new unit profiles, the AT-RT, NR-N99 Tank, and the AAT. Also, we are pleased to release some new in game shots, some of these items you have seen, some you have not.
